WHO?
Jayme Lim Hui Min, 19, joined Jammerz Arena as a JA Musician back in 2009. As a Lead Guitarist in his current band “Bear Culture”. Jayme has been proven to be both musically and academically talented. Having attained a music theory grade of 2 and “Trinity Electric Guitar” Grade of 5, he has gone on to achieving more with his amazing song compositions heard in Bear Culture’s Originals like “Distant”, “Cheese Cake”, “Valkyrie” and many more. Besides being a former band leader of “Brink of Rage” and a well-known figure in JA as a “Guitar God”. Jayme has also showed exceptional leadership skills that caught the eyes of our staff advisors when he was talent scouted by Jammerz Arena. The role of “Vice President” was thus entrusted to him to handle the music direction and operations of Jammerz Arena. Under his successful leadership and support to the team. He has together with his executive committee of 2009-2011 achieved a name for JA and themselves. Currently pursuing a “Diploma in Sonic Arts”, he is set to graduate in 2012.
Any advice you have out there for potential JA musicians?
Strive to be the best that you can be, and not to strive to be the best among others.
What was it like when you initially started with JA?
It was in a very bad situation and we faced possibilities of either to close down, merge with another music group or to revive Jammerz Arena. Revival was the path we chose and we managed to do it with our batch of hardworking members and good close friends.
How would you sum up your 2010 experience building up Jammerz Arena?
2010 was a whole new experience in life for me; I managed to do so much that I could only dream of doing. I formed a band with 4 great musicians whom happened to be my very close friends in JA. I’ve even received a great opportunity to produce JA's quintessential performance at Reflections Arts Festival 2010 which was a huge honour for me as it was the IG's first ever big show at the annual art's festival.
How has Jammerz Arena enabled you to develop your talents and not forgetting opening avenues for performance opportunities?
Jammerz Arena definitely helped me develop as a musician as I learned to lead and direct music and performances. By getting exposure from all the gigs by JA, I have since managed to play at bigger stages with my band Bear Culture, such as The Esplanade Outdoor Theatre at the Waterfront and in August 2011, we will be playing at Baybeats 2011.
Tell us your deepest darkest secret that people do not know about?
