WHO ?
Nur Amira, 19, joined Jammerz Arena as a vocalist back in 2010. As a year 3 student taking a diploma in “Integrated Events Management”, she has no doubt proven to everyone that girls can rock as hard as boys too. With no prior trainings and the occasional bath room singing, she has no doubt moved on from singing to herself to a crowd as big as the size of Jam & Hop 2011. With her charismatic approach and lively persona on stage, she has no doubt proven herself a star to be and an upcoming vocalist in “JA” we should all be looking out for. Having been talent scouted by senior JA member “Shahrin” from Bear Culture. She joined JA auditions with a high doubt on herself and her abilities. Having made through auditions since day one, she has progress both musically in her band “City in Motion” and not forgetting academically in RP as well. Besides that, with the recent release back in 2010 of our Vocalist from electric waves “Sarah” whom was also holding the title of Asst Admin & finance Manager. Amira was nominated for the job as she has proven herself to be worthy to take charge of matters by the B***S…
What fruit best describes you?
Lemon? I’m an unpredictable person. Lemon is all plain yellow but the taste of it can make you go CRAZY. I’m full of surprises.
How did you come about joining Jammerz Arena?
I heard about Jammerz Arena through a good friend of mine who was also in this IG and also through SLA fiesta. At first, when I signed up for this IG, my intention was to give it a try and just trying my luck. However, after going through several phases with them, I chose to stay and be a part of this IG because they believed in me and that gave me a reason to believe in them.
How is it like being a female vocalist fronting a band that plays rock music? Any Challenges?
It’s a good experience because you get to lead the band and you are like the ‘fire starter’ especially being in a rock band. But being a ‘fire starter’ will be one of the challenges because you need to have the stamina and always keeping yourself in good condition. Being a frontline person is not easy because you carry greater responsibility and whatever we do, it influences on how people see your band as a whole.
What is your single best and worst moment being in Jammerz Arena?
The single best moment for me was during Reflections show performance. Quintessential. I was singing a song by Paramore – The Only Exception which made me tear badly because the song means a lot to me. Then suddenly, the audience just followed along, singing the chorus. The feeling was awesome because they feel what I feel and I get to connect with them.
The worst moment being in Jammerz Arena is when good things come to an end. Especially after our shows ended, that will be the worst moment for me because the feeling is just too great that make it hard to forget.
Your deepest darkest secret?
